- This necklace features a stunning piece of natural Gary Green Jasper, mined in northern Nevada and cut by a lapidary artist in Maine. The remarkable blends of earthly colors and the seemingly topographical lines within the Jasper are entirely natural. The stone is truly captivating! I handmade the bezel surrounding the Jasper using recycled sterling silver, and engraved radiating lines to add texture and depth to the pendant.
The pendant hangs in the center of a handwoven 18.5" recycled fine silver chain. I made this chain from scratch, shaping and fusing each individual link using a 5000 year old jewelry-making technique. I then made the recycled sterling silver hook and eye clasp to keep the chain on securely. The chain is strong, yet feels very light and soft to the touch.
The pendant is 45mm x 31mm at widest points, and the necklace has an overall length of 18.5" including the handmade clasp. The back of the pendant is stamped with the Beryllina hummingbird logo and "925" (to denote sterling silver).
Handmade in Concord, MA. Available at the North Bennet Street School Gallery in Boston, MA.
